Job Title: SCM Engineer

Location: 2 months in Dallas, TX and after that project will be relocated to Denver, CO 

Duration: 6 months C-T-H

Rate: Open

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support and enhance build and deployment tools through automation using a combination of scripting and processes.
  • Source Code Control Administration, i.e. maintaining and administering the source code repositories, including implementation of automated controls and enhancements.
  • Perform release activities in coordination with Project Management, QA, Release Management and Web Development teams in a timely and efficient manner, to ensure smooth repeatable releases.
  • Support multiple concurrent releases through various test environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex deployment problems, release issues and environment issues in a multi-component environment.
  • Work with and mentor offshore teams, with a goal to achieve a 24/7 support model.

Skills Summary:

  • 5+ years in a UNIX/Linux Release Engineering role, including
  1. o Source Code Management administration
  1. o Building and deploying J2EE based applications
  1. o Isolating build/deployment issues versus code issues
  • 4+ years of Python and/or UNIX shell scripting.
  • 2+ years hands on Java/JSP programming experience.
  • 3+ years deployment automation experience (e.g. AnthillPro, XFlow, scripted workflows, etc.)
  • 3+ years Subversion (SVN) administration experience.
  • 2+ years CI tools experience (e.g. Hudson/Jenkins, CruiseControl, etc.)
  • 3+ years using defect tracking systems (e.g. JIRA, ClearQuest, etc.)
  • Experience with Build tools (e.g. Maven, Ant, etc.)
  • Hands on HTML/XML programming knowledge.
  • Experience working with web server technologies (e.g. WebSphere, Web Logic)
  • Experience using major relational databases (e.g. SQL, DB2)
  • Experience implementing or using Continuous Delivery methodologies.
  • Solid understanding and practical experience of Agile SDLC, with particular emphasis on release engineering functions.
  • Strong aptitude towards understanding complex existing scripts and workflows under guidance, with an ability to support and enhance them.
