Job Title: System Admin

Location: Chicago, IL

Duration: Full time

Compensation: Open

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and a solid Linux administration background. The candidate must have implementation and configuration experience in a multi-tiered (web/ application/ database) environment and be able to learn quickly.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ managing Linux based server architecture, design and management skills, with experience supporting high availability enterprise environments;
  • 3+ years’ experience using VMware ESX or similar hypervisors;
  • 3+ years’ experience using enterprise level backup software;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server products;
  • Good knowledge of UNIX scripting;
  • RHEL and/or VMware certification a plus;
  • Ability to meet commitments and manage priorities in a high paced environment;
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment;
  • Strong trouble shooting Documentation skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the server and storage environment which includes Linux, Microsoft Windows and VMware ESX;
  • Manage EMC Storage and Fiber Channel SAN switches;
  • Drive system architecture, planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and modification;
  • Manages the storage and backup standards, architecture, administration support and capacity planning;
  • Accountable to ensure security standards are upheld specifically PCI and SAS 70;
  • Monitors, controls and reports service levels for computing resources;
  • Manages assets and acquisition of new hardware and software as required;
  • Performance tuning and troubleshooting;
  • Configuration & Standards Documentation;
  • Provide 24x7 on-call support.
