Job Title: Configuration Manager

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Duration: 6+ months

Rate: Open


Our CM will be an essential contributor supporting development & testing needs throughout the entire software development lifecycle. Will work closely with other team members in an agile/extreme/ waterfall programming atmosphere by adding software & documentation release process. Must be a results-driven and self-directed individual interested in a dynamic environment with rapidly changing requirements.


  • Prepare release plans for revision control of PM/Producer/Director initial requirements & technical specification from our lead developers & managers.
  • Stay on top of all changes to make sure all documents (requirements & technical specs) are synchronized with new releases of code/applications/products/set of software and Release Documents to CS.
  • Estimate efforts of new and existing products based on high-level requirements and service descriptions.
  • Develop and audit existing release process
  • Document and audit documentation for software release.
  • Recognize & advise of new tools requirements to run CM department run smooth.
  • Demonstrate an exceptional understanding of CM.
  • Regulate change process to ensure that only approved and validated are changes incorporated in to the products and environments.
  • Be able to accurately describe and/or present highly technical designs and systems to a non-technical audience (both verbally and written).
  • Report on status of projects to stakeholders and upper management.
  • Attend and contribute to project design and planning meetings.
  • Proactively research and recommend ways of improving release process.
  • Write documentation describing release process.
  • Work successfully in a deadline-driven, fast paced environment and effectively multitask multiple priorities.
  • Occasionally supervise the launch of various on-air services during irregular hours (evenings and weekends).


  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent area of study.
  • Practical experience in release management & deploying web-based and J2EE applications.
  • Background or familiarity with interactive television or mobile application development strongly desired.
  • Understanding of Java, J2EE, HTML, JavaScript, Selenium, CSS, Tomcat, JBOSS, Spring, Web Services/WDSL/XML/JSON/REST, SQL, JTA/Hibernate, Oracle, MySQL, JMS, and Log4j, T-SQL or PL/SQL.
  • Experience in configuration management and revision control using SVN or CVS, SPIRA.
  • Proficient with the Linux command line environment.
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing requirements.
  • Strong documentation skills. Candidate will be required to update, and create from scratch, process documentation for configuring environments, deploying software, and certifying process.
  • Experience with Maven, Ant, Shell Scripting, SVN and other such tools for configuration management and environments.
  • Must have experience with build automation
