Job Title: Security Architect

Location: Atlanta, GA

Duration: 6 months 

Rate: Open

Description:

The security architect is responsible for the development and evolution of security strategy, both as it relates to the company's enterprise needs and to our products and services. As a subject matter expert, the security architect will be expected to provide technical leadership and design guidance across the organization, define long-term roadmaps for security process and technology, and ensure compliance with data protection requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  •  Act a security subject matter expert utilizing current information security technology disciplines and industry standards to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of information assets.
  •  Utilize proven consulting skills to deliver security architecture, design and engineering services with a specific focus on the security domain.
  •  Develop reference security architectures (including requirements, design patterns, and other artifacts) for use throughout the company.
  •  Participate in the governance process to influence projects to adhere to industry standards, and all relevant security policies.
  •  Deliver “hands-on" security architecture expertise in information security disciplines in support of the environment.
  •  Develop and foster relationships with technical teams and business partners in order to create an integrated approach that provides data integrity, information confidentiality, and service availability.
  •  Partner with Application Delivery, Compliance, Audit, and Information Security to ensure that the Information Security Principles are embedded into new initiatives.
  •  Evaluate new and emerging security technologies for potential suitability in the company's environment.
  •  Mentor staff regarding security concepts and architecture.

Specific Responsibilities by Focus Area:

Infrastructure

  •  Network Design and Architecture
  •  Remote Access Technologies (PKI, IKE, IPSEC, SSL/HTTPS)
  •  WAN Security Architecture
  •  Firewalls
  •  IDS, IPS, NAC, SIEM , Content Filtering
  •  Encryption and Key Management Technologies
  •  Data Leakage Prevention
  •  Authentication/Authorization Systems
  •  Penetration Testing
  •  Monitoring, Alerting and Mitigation Strategies

Application Development

  •  Participate in the initial requirements definition.
  •  In depth, hands-on understanding of application architectures and technology.
  •  Strong understanding of business processes in support of online and mobile channels for financial industries.
  •  Ensures application security procedures meet business requirements and information is safeguarded against unauthorized use, disclosure or modification, and damage or loss.
  •  Assist the development teams in identifying information security risks and the appropriate controls for development.
  •  Mentor staff on secure coding principals.

Policy:

  •  Contribute to the development of security policies, security standards, and risk governance processes.
  •  In depth knowledge of information security practices relating to PCI, SOX, application security and PII data protection.
  •  Participate as needed in IT security audit activities both internal and external, ensuring compliance to Federal regulations, Sarbanes-Oxley, Data Privacy acts and Payment Card Industry standards .
  •  Provide strong expertise in Information Security support including compliance driven initiatives.
  •  Support peer security organizations throughout the company as needed.

Required Skills:

  •  Minimum of 8 years in increasingly senior roles in Network Administration, Network Engineering, Security Engineering, Security Assurance, or similar areas in a medium or large corporate environment.
  •  One or more Security certifications (i.e. CISSP, CCSP, CISM, GSEC, SANS GIAG, ISSAP)
  •  Extensive knowledge of firewall, IPS and IDS and other means of securing and controlling unauthorized access to data.
  •  Extensive knowledge of load balancing products and techniques.
  •  Demonstrable understanding of TCP/IP networks at a senior level, demonstrable experience implementing, tuning, and troubleshooting.
  •  Demonstrable experience and understanding of server systems design, cluster management, troubleshooting, and hardware replacement with an emphasis on network integration specifics.
  •  Familiarity with multi-tiered, highly available web applications.
  •  Familiarity with voice integration into network infrastructures (VOIP).
  •  Working knowledge of the security of common Operating Systems such as Windows, Unix, and Linux.
  •  Expertise in network documentation and architecture diagram skills.
  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  •  Understanding and knowledge of security/network best practices.
  •  Focused, self-motivated and highly competent professional with proven track record.
  •  Some college or technical certification required.
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  •  Executive level presentation skills
