Job Title: Information Architect (Mobile)

Location: Houston, TX

Duration: 12+ months

Rate: Open


  • The Information Architect will work with internal customers and external customers to analyze, design, and develop online customer facing systems.
  • This will include user research and requirements gathering, cognitive task analysis, use-in-context research, heuristic reviews and high fidelity prototyping.
  • This person will represent the online marketing team and work with various internal and external groups to capture requirements and develop solutions that deliver real business value for our customers.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Help define and execute on the guiding principles for a great customer experience across mobile and touch interface devices.
  • Gather customer requirements and specifications.
  • Hands on development of wireframes, user interaction diagrams and finished designs ready to be consumed by the development team.
  • Create supporting documentation such as user flow diagrams, use cases and functional & presentation specifications.
  • Perform/facilitate/analyze usability studies on digital experiences.
  • Research design, data collection and statistical analysis.


  • Undergraduate degree in Interaction Design, Human Factors, or a domain-related field from an accredited college or university required. Graduate degree is preferred.


  • 5 to 8 years of information architecture, interaction design or UX design experience.
  • 3 to 5 years focused specifically on mobile experiences as well as social media tools and sites.
  • Proven experience designing for modern, highly interactive mobile applications.
  • Experience in a retail customer facing online industry preferred.
  • Industry experience in energy, wireless, airline, banking, insurance, consumer products is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience providing human factors design and analysis services including, heuristic reviews, high fidelity prototyping, and user task flow creation.
  • Experience translating use cases and functional requirements into wireframes and prototypes.
  • Understanding of all relevant marketing disciplines.
  • Knowledge of consumer online behaviors and the role user experience plays on the web, mobile and social.
  • Strong leadership, presentation, writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with internal, cross-functional and external teams.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude.
  • Familiar with the creative development process.
  • Experience with commercial software development processes.
