Job Title: Lead Desktop Support Engineer

Location: Bethpage, NY

Duration: 5+ months

Rate: Open

In Person Interview must be paid at your expense. Candidate must be able to go to the white board on an in person interview, the manager will give them a scenario and they will have to write the script using the scripting language they are most comfortable with. Candidate must be able to help with a solution around the desktop having a wraparound in place for when a user on their desktop is on the web and they click on download a new version of Java that this new version does not override all existing versions that client server applications use in order to run properly. 15000 to 20000 desktops.


Client seeks a Lead Client/Desktop Engineer responsible for 2nd and 3rd level support of desktop and client computing platforms across the enterprise.

  • Create desktop and laptop build processes
  • Develop, organize and maintain standard operational procedures
  • Ensure that desktop standards are understood and followed by stake holders and team members
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, architecture and development teams to provide implementation blueprints, industry best practices and vendor product guidelines
  • Prioritize work efforts, multi-task in a very fast-paced environment, and provide timely and clear updates
  • Assist project managers with the budgets, resource allocation, task distribution, delivery management, risk management and other project management tasks


  • 7+ years of experience on Windows Desktop Enterprise technologies
  • 2+years of experience in directly managing teams
  • Experience on software packaging and distribution technologies and building OS images using Ghost, ZenWorks or Client KACE
  • Must have experience with Windows XP, Windows 7 (32-bit & 64-bit) desktop platforms
  • Experience on Power shell, VB Scripting, profiles for user settings, builds and distributions
  • Experience on large migration projects
  • Windows XP to 7 and Office 2010 upgrade
  • Support Active Directory and IE
